NEW SINGLE FROM FEMALE CANADIAN ARTIST X-PLYCIT

For this week's Music Monday, today's featured track is called "Trapped In My Head" by Canadian artist X-Plycit.  The track definitely speaks on mental health and the dark feelings we might feel or experience during the lows of life. Overall, it's a very personal song with intricate rhyme flows. Sonically, it has a somber boom bap tempo, with a piano on the harmony, which allows the artist to flow differently through her story. I also believe it has some rock vibes. This track features Braeden V on the chorus, and his melody contrasts with the bars on the verses. "Trapped In My Head" is the first single off X-Plycit's upcoming album, Content. I think it's important for artists to be vulnerable like X-Plycit is in her music, in order to spread awareness to those who could learn or empathize from it. Check out her track below! Canadian underground hip hop artist X-Plycit has been building her brand and growing her fan base through years of touring and networking across Canada and the East Coast. Born in Hamilton, she moved to Nova Scotia during her teen years. She now resides on Prince Edward Island. Being the only female in her genre in Cape Breton, she put in extra work to claim her space in the male-dominated scene. She has also been using her music passion as a platform for causes she cares about such as charity shows for women's shelters, suicide awareness, and Christmas Daddies donation fund. She has also been a speaker at PeaceEAST Women in Music Circle and the Caper Radio Presents: Inclusivity in Music workshop, geared towards encouraging more females to get into music.

X-Plycit has performed at music festivals such as PEACE East & Northern Touch Music Festival, the 902 Lit Tour as a co-headliner, along with sharing the stage alongside Ace Hood, Madchild, Snak The Ripper, Merkules, Evil Ebenezer, Lil Windex, Prada West, Caine TL, Lil Debbie, and Raven Felix and more! She also hosted her own radio show, “Late Night Underground with X-Plycit," which aired every Thursday night at 10p.m. on 107.3FM Caper Radio. X-Plycit has released 2 albums, The Purge and Underrated, Her upcoming album, Content, is due out October 2021.​​
