Yo wassup OTDHipHop Gvng!
Aloha from the 808, today we're featuring a locals only segment for our Music Monday block - Honolulu's own Jraww and his latest sadboi joint "Darkside," which just released a few weeks ago. In this new era of emo and punk rap, it's no surprise that Hawaii's hip hop scene would also be introducing some new teenage artists and other young artists on the same vibe, with Jraww being part of this new wave and energy. Check out "Darkside" below on Soundcloud; it's also available on all music streaming platforms, along with the rest of Jraww's growing discography.
Jraww got inspired to make "Darkside," following his other track "Darkness," which he already has a music video for.
The artist states, "I just love that I'm able to kinda connect two songs. 'Darkside' is a vibe about feeling alone, lonely, and trapped in the dark. " Jraww credits Dareese Develops for directing his music video for "Darkside," producer Stood, and DJ Ideas for mixing+mastering.

Wassup OTDHipHop gvng! We keepin' it rollin' all 2022, artists hit us up to be featured! This week for our New Music Monday segment we got another drop from LA Artist, NatStar, and his new single "Lock." This track keeps the same confident energy as all of his songs like "BBL," which we featured last month on the blog. But I gotta say that "Lock" is definitely a bop to bump in the whip; it gives me gangsta and trap flows like Nipsey Hussle and Meek Mill. The hook is a vibe and the beat goes hard too, reminds me of Drake and Future. NatStar's raps also got some quoteables for your hustle and motivation, gym, or pre-game playlists. Check out NatStar's LP The Code on all music streaming platforms, and music videos on his Youtube channel.
Happy New Year OTDHipHop gvng, We're back with another episode of the podcast, and our first installment of the new year! Welcome to 2022... In this episode, I share 6 tips for female artists and my experiences + lessons I've learned as a woman in hip hop for a couple years. All artists can learn something from this episode but I created this specifically for my fellow female emcees and musicians because it is different for us! I also wanted to give props to all the girls and women in music and entertainment, and encourage us to keep going. Peace! - Jehzan |
