Yo welcome back OTDHipHop fam, It's been over a month since we posted a new episode of the podcast, but it's here! In this episode, I share briefly about why consistency and practice are so important not only to your music career, but overall self-confidence and well-being as a performer. Just like professional athletes, if you consider yourself a professional musician or artist, you need to PRACTICE! From rapping over your own performance mixes, remix beats/instrumentals, freestyling, and more, consistent practice will allow you to work through the "ins-and-outs" of your live sets, and keep you ready to book shows, concerts, etc. Don't forget to document some of your practice sessions too; it all makes for dope content to share with your fans and supporters on social media. Everyone could always use more content, right? So get to practice! Yo! We back with another episode of the OTDHipHop podcast. In this episode, I talk about my recent experience as a freelancer writer on Fiverr. Fiverr is an online marketplace and platform for various freelance services, available worldwide. It's an easily accessible way to build your resume and portfolio as a freelancer, as well as to help you order other services that you might need for your own brand, business, or creative outlet. Listen more below: Wassup OTDHipHop gang! Recently, I connected with Rock the School Bells, a hip hop education program geared towards middle school, high school, and college students. Rock the School Bells (aka RTSB) originated at Skyline College in San Brunco, CA back in 2008. Since then, the program has expanded to other cities/states around the nation, including here in Hawaii. For the past few years, I've had the pleasure of participating as an educator and artist at RTSB Hawaii. However, due to the pandemic, RTSB decided to host a nationwide virtual conference so that youth around the U.S. (and the world) can participate online. Long-story short, I decided to create a youth video workshop on Hip Hop & Financial Literacy because I'm an advocate for not only academic education, but also skills that youth need to succeed in every day life. Especially during our current times, financial education is now more important than ever. With that being said, for today's podcast episode, I decided to share some steps from my video workshop. Please keep in mind that there is much more I can share about financial literacy, but this episode focuses on steps anyone take at any point in life to begin their journey towards financial freedom. Happy listening!! Please feel free to let me know what you think, I would love to hear your feedback and any more questions that you have for me. Mahalo, Jehzan Exclusive OTDHipHop Yo wassup OTDHipHop gang! We are back in full effect, not that we ever left... I know I haven't been live on our Instagram page for almost 3 months nor have I blogged much, but I've been working on other projects. On top of that, the pandemic is still very real. However, ff you haven't heard already, our podcast just launched back in January, with 2 episodes already out now! Live-stream interviews will resume this month. Any artist interested in hopping on our Wednesday night live-stream, feel free to hit me up on Instagram (@OTDHipHop) or send me an email: [email protected]. As always, thank you for supporting this platform! Lots more content and projects on the way... Kicking off Spring 2021, we got Mac Bone's brand new drop "What I Want." It's refreshing to vibe to Mac Bone's latest release, which features a laid-back classic vibe with cool and clever lyricism. The beat, rhymes, and flow all come together so effortlessly. This track is a quick lil' bop, somethin' to keep you company and chilled, during your quarantine work day or 420 smoke sessions. Mac Bone is always keepin' it real with his easy going rhymes; painting pictures of his daily life and personal growth. I dig the nostalgic energy on this track and video a lot! Speaking of the video, this is a hella tight visual! Shout out Wayne Jones from YSFilmz on the clean and simple shots, featuring some dope effects. I feel like this video captures Mac Bone's style to da' max! I love how Mac stays real to his Hawaii beginnings, rocking the The HiLites Crew (THC) sweater and youthful swag. Big ups to Mac Bone doin' his thing in North Carolina! The overall project is super solid and I'm glad to feature it on the blog. Check out "What I Want" on Youtube and subscribe to Mac Bone's channel!
